Should you tag your prospects in LinkedIn posts? I tagged 30, met with 10, and closed 2.

When I first launched my agency, Erudite, I photoshopped my prospects as superheroes and movie covers to get their attention. This is social selling. It was weird, turned a lot of prospects off, but caught the attention of a few who turned into deals.

When I launched Erudite, I was desperately trying to get the attention of 30 accounts.

And somewhere buried in my desk drawer, I have them listed on a wrinkled sticky note with about 15 crossed out.

They were the first accounts I wanted to win.

Instead of reaching out cold, I made these covers, put them in a carousel, and tagged every single lead.

This is what happened…

5 of them were scared away.
1 of them thought it was “Weird and offensive” (sorry - if you’re reading this, I meant well).
10 of them met with me.
2 of them become clients.

Full transparency: This was a huge project. It took me over 40 hours to create the Photoshop edits.

Some would argue it wasn’t work it. But this single campaign generated over 7% of my lifetime revenue.

This is social selling.

Get creative!
